Friday Oct 23, 2020
Friday Oct 23, 2020
The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) invites you to participate in a webinar on institutional liability, clinical programs and quality.
The webinar will focus on questions including:
- Distinction between risks associated with universities, programs with clinical requirements and risks associated with accreditors: What might liability protection look like for each group?
- Do virtual clinicals carry the same level of quality preparation as on-site preparation … and what type of evidence would verify “quality” preparation? Do "virtual" clinicals meet the requirements for licensing exams?
- What challenges can be expected with virtual clinicals? How will these challenges be mitigated? Should accreditors expect virtual clinicals to become the norm beyond COVID-19?
- What is the process for “norming” virtual clinicals across national accreditors’ boundaries?
Panelists will include Sonny Ramaswamy, President, Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; Marsal Stoll, Chief Executive Officer, Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing; Peggy Valentine, Interim Chancellor, Fayetteville State University; and Tom Smalling, Chief Executive Officer, Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
The webinar will present valuable dialogue for accreditation and quality assurance leaders, faculty and academic administrators, higher education associations and government officials.
